Nigerian Guiness World Record aspirant, Joshua Babatunde Aiyenuro, has made a bold entry into the global record books as he eyes the Guinness World Records for the longest professional hairdressing marathon, successfully surpassing 72 hours of nonstop barbing.

The historic marathon took place at Paradise Cruise, Abacha Road, Maraba, Nasarawa State, drawing attention from residents, supporters, and members of the creative industry.

Aiyenuro officially commenced the record attempt at 11pm on Thursday, January 29, 2026, maintaining continuous professional hairdressing throughout the duration.

In addition to the endurance milestone, Aiyenuro set a remarkable personal record by creating over 120 different hairstyles within the 72-hour period, demonstrating exceptional creativity, technical skill, and physical resilience.

With this achievement, the world record aspirant has become the first person in Africa to set such a record in professional hairdressing, marking a significant milestone for the continent’s beauty and grooming industry.
