Niger: Minister Urges For Peaceful LG Polls

Barely two weeks to the local government council elections in Niger State, Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, has urged the people of the state to ensure peaceful conduct during the election.

He also inaugurated members of All Progressives Congress, APC, Campaign Committee for the Niger South Senatorial District, where he gave financial support towards ensuring smooth conduct of the poll.

He charged politicians to eschew politics of bitterness, and play by the rule.

According to the Minister, in every contest, there must be a winner and a loser, adding that politics is a game of numbers and urged the people of the state to see themselves as one indivisible entity. 

He advised the people of the state to embark on a peaceful campaign devoid of rancour, adding that the campaign does not worth anybody’s blood.

On the recent banditry attack in Niger North Senatorial zone, the Minister reaffirmed the renewed commitment of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to ensure the safety of lives and properties of Nigerians.
