NDDC Intensifies Drive for Youth Empowerment and Sustainable Development

Efforts by the Managing Director of the Niger Delta Development Commission, the NDDC Dr. Samuel Ogbuku in  Youths and human Capital development is beginning to yield more benefits to residents and people of the Oil rich Niger Delta region of Nigeria.

In the past few months, the NDDC has sponsored more youths and human capital development across the region, staged in the different states that makes up the NDDC catchment areas.

The Management of the Niger Delta development  Commission says it will continue to support the ideals of her Founding Fathers in ensuring  sustainable  development of the region.

Speaking during the Just concluded All secondary school old School tournament held at the Sharks stadium in pH, the Managing Director of the NDDC  Chief Dr. Samuel Ogbuku who commended the participating schools for their show of Sportsman  said there was no victor and no  vanquish.

Represented by the Director of Sports, youths , Culture  and women affairs, Bar. Olaniyi Salami, Dr. Ogbuku thanked the participating teams,and commended them for their understanding the essence of the commission  the initiative, which he said is aimed at developing capacity and  potentials of the Nigerian delta women and youths.

The  NDDC Boss further thanked guests for their   colourful turnout , the crowd  support and emphasised that this year’s edition of the competition new W.W .White old school tournament was indeed splendid, stressing that the main essence of the competition has been archived.

Highlights of this year’s one day football /sports fiesta which includes include , football games, Tug of War,  relay races, four by one hundred meters relay race , sack races amongst which the ladies participated.

Remember, the Niger Delta states are presently preparing her different  athletes and contingents for the next edition of the Niger Delta Sports Fiesta, being  sponsored by the NDDC this time in Delta State.

The last edition took place in Akwa Ibom with Bayelsa State carthing home the converted trophy.
