Enugu State Governor, Peter Mbah, is reportedly set to defect from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) next week.
The development was confirmed by the APC National Chairman, Dr. Nentawe Goshwe Yilwatda, and the party’s Deputy National Chairman (South-East), Chief Emma Eneukwu, during the inauguration of the Enugu State APC caretaker committee at the party’s national secretariat in Abuja on Friday.
According to the APC leadership, Governor Mbah’s official declaration will take place at a special event in Enugu next week.
Chairman of the newly inaugurated caretaker committee, Dr. Ben Nwoye, also confirmed the move, saying the governor will be joining the ruling party along with all his appointees.
There are also reports that Taraba State Governor, Agbu Kefas, may soon follow suit by joining the APC.
