Lawmaker Inaugurates 2.3km Road In Lagos

Member representing Ikorodu Federal Constituency, Mr Babajimi Benson, on Saturday, inaugurated part of Erikorodo Road in Ikorodu, Lagos State, measuring 2.3km. 

Benson, the Chairman of the House of Representatives Committee on Defence, said at the inauguration that the road reconstruction was part of his campaign promise. 

The 2.3km portion is the first phase of the 4.6km  Erikorodo Road reconstruction project.

The road links Ikorodu/Sagamu and Ikorodu/Itoikin roads while connecting more than 14 communities.

“We still have many  projects, we will usher in great development that will turn Ikorodu to an enviable city,” the lawmaker said.

He noted that the projects would be handed over to the Community Development Association, CDA, and Community Development Committee, CDC, for maintainance, after completion.

He praised members of his constituency for their support.

Ealier, Mr Gbolahan Ogunleye, representing Ikorodu Constituency 1 at the Lagos State House of Assembly, advised  Ikorodu residents to engage in agriculture  to increase food production.

In his remarks,  Special Adviser to Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu on Rural Development, Mr Nurudeen Agbaje said  the governor had distributed more than 10 transformers to improve electricity supply  to Ikorodu North.

The CDA Chairman of Laketu Oladeiibi, Mr Oladele Winjobi,  expressed gratitude to the lawmaker for the  road reconstruction.

According to him, it will improve economic activities in Ikorodu.

Winjobi said  the community would take ownership of the road and  set up a committee to ensure  its proper maintenance. (NAN
