ABUJA — Vice President Kashim
Shettima has been commended for his leadership qualities, loyalty and commitment to public service.
A constitutional lawyer and rights activist, Hamza N. Dantani, made the commendation in a statement, noting that his position is based on sustained observation of the Vice President’s conduct and performance in office.

Dantani described Shettima as a leader with humility, empathy and intellectual depth, adding that his career trajectory reflects diligence and integrity.

According to him, Shettima began his professional career in the banking sector, where he earned recognition for professionalism and support for colleagues, before venturing into public service.

He recalled that the Vice President served as Commissioner under former Borno State Governor, Ali Modu Sheriff, before emerging as governor at a time the state faced insurgency by Boko Haram.

He said despite the security challenges, Shettima governed with courage and strategic focus, recording developmental strides and restoring hope in affected communities.

Dantani also noted that Shettima played a role in the formation and consolidation of the All Progressives Congress, describing him as a unifying figure.

He further stated that after his tenure as governor, Shettima served as Senator representing Borno State, where he distinguished himself as a legislator.

The lawyer added that Shettima’s emergence as Vice President alongside President Bola Ahmed Tinubu reflects recognition of his years of service.
He said the Vice President is known for a calm and inclusive leadership style, as well as his oratory skills.

Dantani added that Shettima’s record is widely viewed as free of allegations of human rights violations or abuse of office.

He noted that the Vice President’s qualities continue to strengthen governance and contribute to national development.
