Kano State governor, Abba Yusuf said the state is becoming the commercial capital of the Sahel region due to key reforms and investments.
This was contained in a statement issued by his Press Secretary, Mustapha Muhammad, in Kano yesterday.
Speaking at the launch of two books in Abuja, Yusuf, represented by his Special Adviser on State Affairs, Alhaji Usman Bala, said the state is leveraging its commercial heritage while embracing the future.
Yusuf said his administration had undertaken initiatives to attract investments and improve the business climate, including security improvements, infrastructural development and power supply enhancement.
He added that efforts to digitise revenue systems and block leakages had been made.
The governor underscored the role of traditional and religious leaders in maintaining peace and government’s focus on supporting small businesses and promoting transparency.
Yusuf said these steps had greatly boosted local and international investors confidence.
He purchased 200 copies of two books for N20 million to promote knowledge and leadership development in the state.(NAN)
