Kano Assembly Loses Lawmaker, Ungogo

Kano State House of Assembly has announced the death of the member representing Ungogo Constituency, Alhaji Aminu Ungogo. 

Ungogo, who was also the Chairman of the House Committee on Appropriation, died yesterday while on active duty at the Assembly’s complex.

This was contained in a statement issued by the Chief Press Secretary to the speaker, Mr Kamaluddeen Shawai, in Kano.

According to him, the lawmaker died after a brief illness at the Kano State House of Assembly.

“He is survived by his wife and children,” Shawai said.

Meanwhile, Speaker  Jibril  Falgore has condoled  the family of the deceased, the people of Ungogo Constituency and members of the House over the loss.

Falgore described the death as a huge and irreplaceable loss, noting that it came at a critical time when the people of Kano State needed the contributions of the late lawmaker most.

He prayed for the repose of Ungogo’s soul and urged his family and constituents to take solace in God.

Shawai  disclosed that the late lawmaker was buried yesterday at 6pm at his country home.(NAN)
