RB Leipzig forward Benjamin Šeško has emerged as Manchester United’s top striker target this summer, with the club already holding initial talks over the conditions of a potential deal.
The 22-year-old Slovenian international has attracted strong interest from United, who have also opened discussions with his representatives. While the club is eager to secure his signature, completing the transfer may prove financially challenging.
Newcastle United are also monitoring the situation closely, but Šeško is believed to favour a move to Old Trafford at this stage of the window.
Driving United’s interest in Šeško is recruitment director Christopher Vivell, who played a key role in discovering the striker during his time at Red Bull Salzburg, where he spotted the young talent at just 16 years old.
Although Manchester United remain focused on player sales to balance their books, they have conducted thorough scouting and due diligence on a number of attacking options this summer, with Šeško now standing out as the leading candidate.
Whether the club can overcome the financial hurdles to bring him to Old Trafford remains to be seen — but there’s growing belief he could be the long-term solution to United’s striker needs.
