Iran Strikes Southern Israel As War Enters Fourth Week

Iranian missile barrages slammed into two southern Israeli towns on Saturday, wounding more than 100 people after air defence systems failed to intercept the projectiles, medics reported.

The direct hits tore open the fronts of residential buildings, carved craters into the ground, and sparked fires, with rescue workers sifting through rubble amid chaos in Arad and Dimona.

In Arad, Magen David Adom treated 84 injured — 10 seriously — while 33 were wounded earlier in nearby Dimona, home to a nuclear research facility widely believed linked to Israel’s undeclared nuclear arsenal.

Israeli military spokesman Brigadier General Effie Defrin confirmed: “The air defence systems operated but did not intercept the missile, we will investigate the incident and learn from it.”

Iranian state media described the Dimona strike as retaliation for an earlier Israeli attack on the Natanz nuclear site.

The barrages are part of Iran’s daily retaliation since the US-Israeli campaign began February 28, killing Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and igniting the wider regional conflict.
