House of Representative member, representing Lavun,Edati and Mokwa federal constituency, on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Niger State, Dr. Joshua Audu Gana, who is also the eldest son of former Minister of Information and National Orientation, Professor Jerry Gana, said he is poised to do more in spite of criticisms.
Dr Joshua stated this in an interview while Feilding questions from some selected media in MINNA over the weekend saying ” I will not be deterred inspite of sentimental feelings in some quoters not seeing anything good despite numerous projects first of its kind since political dispensation.
” We are all students of history i doubt if there is any previous federal representative of Lavun, Edati and Mokwa constituency that have provided social amenities as it is in my tenure for the past two years,over 20 projects have been executed as part of oversight functions”.
At this juncture, I advise youths to always support competency those with capacity and have very good track records,instead of whipping unnecessary sentiments capable of drawing us back to those dark old days, Joshua reiterated.
Projects executed so far are in various wards for people to see and are specifically executed in areas that mostly needed water, electricity, trained over 120 youths for empowerment also over 100 grinding and sewing machines were distributed to women as part of empowerment.
According to him,”People of my constituency have benefited particularly in Agriculture and Health care interventions,distribution of food items to ease economic hardships, distribution of fertilisers and farming inputs,and Scholarships though I will not be bogged down due to their false and misleading claims,Hon Joshua re emphasized.
He further explained that numerous projects has been spread across Lavun, Mokwa, and Edati Federal Constituency since he assumed office over two years, and wonder why some few groups are bent to criticize his efforts based on sentiment forgotten that no one can change his origin.
” Presently there are ongoing construction of primary schools in some communities that are yet to feel the impact of governance in terms of education, schools were renovated with provision of furnitures, hand-pump boreholes”.
I challenged anyone to go to Nnadefu, Dakogi, Dukun, Dogbe, Lalo, Edobaba, Mambwari, Shaku Gbako, Kpankuruzhi, and Basagi, just to mention a few” where hand pumP boreholes were drilled.
There are many communities that have benefited in various projects including provision of electricity, street lights,built six fully equipped classrooms in Tswagba community in Lavun local government.committed over 15 million Naira on health care needs.
He, however, appreciates the elders and youths of the people’s Democratic party PDP in Lavun,Edati and Mokwa local government areas for their unflinching support and fatherly role played to reach this far.
