Hisbah Arrests 25 Youths During Raid on Hotel in Kebbi

Operatives of the Kebbi State Hisbah Board operating under the Ministry of Religious Affairs have arrested 25 young persons in Argungu over allegations of involvement in activities considered contrary to public morality.

The Director of Shariah of the Board, Sirajo Kamba, disclosed the development in a statement issued to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Birnin Kebbi on Saturday.

According to Kamba, the operation was carried out on July 3 during a raid conducted at a hotel in Argungu town.

He stated, “On July 3, the Kebbi Hisbah Board carried out a raid at a hotel in Argungu and successfully apprehended 25 suspects allegedly involved in immoral activities.”

The official revealed that those arrested comprised 12 males and 13 females.

Kamba explained that the operation formed part of the Board’s broader campaign aimed at addressing social misconduct, encouraging moral standards and preserving public order across the state.

He said, “Those arrested include 12 males and 13 females.”

He further noted, “The operation is part of the board’s ongoing efforts to combat social vices, promote moral values, and maintain peace and decency across Kebbi.”

The Director of Shariah added that the Board would carry out a detailed investigation into the allegations in line with legal procedures.

According to him, individuals found responsible for any offence after the investigation would be subjected to the appropriate legal process as provided by law.
