Gov Oborevwori Reiterates Support For Local Govts 

Delta State governor, Sheriff Oborevwori has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to continue to support the chairmen of local government areas in delivering good governance to the people.

The governor made the reaffirmation at the inauguration of some projects in Bomadi Local Government Area, yesterday.

The projects were executed by the Chairman of Bomadi Local Government Area, Mr Dagidi Andaye.

The project inauguration was part of the programmes to mark the one year in office of the council chairman.

The inaugurated projects include:

the renovated chairman’s lodge; construction of residential building for the vice chairman; construction of Deaconess Tobore Oborevwori Event Centre.

Others are the connection of Bomadi to the national grid; construction of residential building for High Court judges and the construction of concrete pavement with two-sided drainage among others.

Oborevwori noted that with focus and commitment, leaders of local government areas could drive real change in their respective domains.

The governor, represented by his Deputy,  Monday Onyeme, commended Mr Andaye for the feat, noting that the initiative demonstrates a clear focus on service, unity, development and values that align with his MORE Agenda.

“My administration will continue to support local governments to bring real benefits to our people.

“Let us move forward with hope, the important projects we inaugurated today are signs of progress and a better future for our dear state.

“Andaye, before assuming office, spent N50 million of his personal fund to fix Bomadi-Ohoro Road. He is a true example of a selfless leader.

“I have also been informed that there are other ongoing projects embarked upon by the chairman.

“These efforts reflect good governance, putting the people first, improving infrastructure and showing transparency,” he said.

Oborevwori encouraged the people of Bomadi to continue to support the chairman, noting that the achievements highlight the importance of unity and team work.

Earlier, in his address, Mr Andaye thanked the governor for his visionary leadership and unwavering support.

“Our governor’s commitment to Bomadi’s development is evident in the numerous projects and appointments given to sons and daughters of Bomadi Local Government Area.

“We are also grateful for Bomadi-Orho Road project which has improved accessibility and connectivity in our local government area,” he said.

In attendance were: the former Senator representing Delta South Senatorial District, James Manager,  Chairman, Delta Advisory and Peace Building Council, Professor Sam Oyovbaire, traditional rulers among others.
