Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, has expressed condolences to former Rivers State Governor and former Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi, following the death of his mother, Dame Ezinne Amaechi.
The governor, speaking on behalf of the Government and people of Rivers State, described the passing of the family matriarch as a painful loss that extends beyond the Amaechi family to the Catholic community, the people of Ubima and the entire state.
Fubara conveyed his sympathy in a condolence message released on Saturday through his Chief Press Secretary, Mr Onwuka Nzeshi, in Port Harcourt.
According to the governor, the death of Dame Ezinne Amaechi represents an irreparable loss, considering the positive influence she had on her family and society.
He acknowledged the contributions of the late matriarch to the upbringing of her children and the values she instilled in those around her.
Fubara noted that losing a mother is one of life’s most difficult experiences and urged the former governor and his family to remain strong during the period of mourning.
He encouraged them to find comfort in the exemplary life Dame Ezinne Amaechi lived and the enduring legacy she left behind.
The governor also recognised the significant role she played in shaping the character of her family while contributing positively to her community.
He described her as a woman whose life reflected values worthy of remembrance.
Fubara prayed for divine comfort for the bereaved family and asked God to grant them the strength to bear the loss.

“The governor prayed to God to comfort the entire family during this difficult period and grant the soul of the departed matriarch eternal rest,” the statement read.
