The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has announced that its 2026 recruitment exercise will officially begin on Friday, July 3, offering qualified Nigerians an opportunity to join the agency under various professional and support cadres.

According to the corps, interested applicants will have four weeks to complete and submit their applications through its official online recruitment portal.

The announcement was contained in a notice dated June 24 and signed by the Deputy Corps Marshal in charge of Administration and Human Resources, Pauline Olaye, on behalf of the Corps Marshal.

The FRSC emphasised that the recruitment process is completely free and warned applicants against paying money to anyone claiming to facilitate employment into the agency.

“Application is free and attracts no cost,” the notice stated.

Eligible candidates are required to submit their applications through the official recruitment portal at https://recruitment.frsc.gov.ng.

The corps explained that applicants who are shortlisted for the next stage of the exercise must present printed copies of their completed application forms during the screening process.

“Applications must be submitted online within four (4) weeks with effect from Friday, 3rd July, 2026,” the notice added.

Recruitment Categories

The recruitment exercise is divided into three major categories: the Officer Cadre, Marshal Inspectorate Cadre and Road Marshal Assistant Cadre.

For the Officer Cadre, vacancies are available for Superintendent Route Commanders, Route Commanders/Deputy Route Commanders and Assistant Route Commanders.

Professionals including medical doctors, pharmacists, nurses, medical laboratory scientists, lawyers, engineers and graduates with Bachelor’s degrees or Higher National Diplomas are eligible to apply, depending on the specific role. Applicants under this category are generally expected to be between 18 and 35 years old.

The Marshal Inspectorate Cadre is open to candidates with qualifications such as the National Certificate in Education (NCE), National Diploma (ND/OND), Registered Nurse and Registered Midwife certificates, as well as Community Health Extension Worker qualifications. Candidates in this category must fall within the 18 to 30-year age bracket.

Meanwhile, the Road Marshal Assistant Cadre targets applicants with at least three credit passes in the Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination, including English Language and Mathematics.

The FRSC also encouraged artisans and skilled workers to apply. Eligible trades include computer operators, mechanics, electricians, plumbers, tailors, motorcycle riders and drivers, provided they possess the required trade qualifications.

Applicants seeking positions as drivers or motorcycle riders must present valid driver’s licences corresponding to the class of vehicle they intend to operate. Candidates applying as articulated vehicle or tow-truck drivers must be between 26 and 40 years old.

General Eligibility Conditions

The FRSC outlined several requirements that all applicants must meet before submitting their applications.

Candidates must be Nigerians by birth, medically fit, computer literate and unmarried at the time of application. They must also possess the required academic qualifications and any relevant professional licences applicable to their chosen positions.

In addition, the corps stipulated minimum height requirements of 1.65 metres for male applicants and 1.58 metres for female applicants.

Applicants were reminded to declare every qualification they possess during the recruitment process.

“Ensure that all certificates and qualifications are declared and presented at the point of recruitment, as undeclared qualifications will not be accepted for future career progression in the Corps,” the notice stated.

The FRSC further stated that applicants must maintain good character, have no criminal convictions and should not be burdened by financial indebtedness.

The agency also prohibited candidates with tattoos on any part of their bodies from applying.

Prospective applicants were advised to use their personal email addresses and phone numbers throughout the application process to ensure smooth communication.

The corps also advised pregnant women not to participate in the recruitment exercise.

Reaffirming its commitment to a transparent recruitment process, the FRSC cautioned Nigerians against falling victim to fraudsters who may demand payment in exchange for employment.

“This recruitment is absolutely free. Interested applicants should beware of fraudsters,” the notice stressed.
