Fayose Predicts Landslide Victory for Oyebanji After Casting Vote in Ekiti Election

Former Ekiti State Governor, Ayodele Fayose.

Former Governor of Ekiti State, Ayodele Fayose, has expressed confidence that Governor Biodun Oyebanji will secure victory in the ongoing governorship election in the state.

Fayose made the declaration on Saturday shortly after casting his vote at Polling Unit 1, St. David Primary School, Afao-Ekiti, located in Irepodun/Ifelodun Local Government Area.

Speaking with journalists after voting, the former governor said he believed the outcome of the election was already clear, predicting a decisive win for the incumbent governor.

“Oyebanji has already won the election,” Fayose stated.

According to him, the mood among residents and the general atmosphere across the state indicate strong support for the governor and suggest that the electorate is prepared to return him for another term in office.

Fayose said his assessment was based on what he described as the “body language” of the people, as well as developments he had observed throughout the state in the build-up to the election.

“If you look at the state of things in the state and the body language of the people, I am predicting an overwhelming victory for him,” he said.

The former governor also commended residents for coming out to participate in the electoral process, noting that active voter participation remains a key component of democratic governance.

Voting continued across several polling units in Ekiti State on Saturday, with voters exercising their constitutional right to choose their preferred candidate in the governorship contest.

Security agencies and officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) were deployed across the state to ensure the smooth conduct of the election.

As the voting process progresses, political stakeholders and observers are closely monitoring developments while awaiting the eventual outcome of the poll.
