Educationist, Mr Doyin Abel has advised parents to be good role models for their children to emulate.
Abel, who gave the advice in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria, NAN, in Ilorin, at the weekend, said quite a number of parents were not good examples that their children could follow..
According to him, parents must behave well and be the mirror their children will watch and emulate.
”Parents must always embrace discipline and set good examples for their children to emulate.
”As a parent, be honest, discipline, respectful, hardworking and embrace good manners for your children to emulate.
”Do not tell lies, do not cheat, do not talk dirty, do not be abusive and lazy,” he said.
Abel stressed that children copy what they see while growing up, therefore, they should be properly guided by parents.
The educationist also advised parents to teach their children morals and stop spoiling them in the name of love. NAN
