Afrobeats star, Damini Ogulu,popularly known as Burna Boy, has made history as the first African artiste to top the Billboard Global 200 Songs chart.
The milestone comes through “Dai Dai,” his collaborative FIFA World Cup song with Shakira, which climbed to the top of both the Billboard Global 200 and the Billboard Global Excl. U.S. charts this week.
The song is currently number one both Billboard Global 200 and Billboard Global 200 Exclusive U.S. It also moved up 12 places this week to reach a new peak of 55 on the Billboard U.S Hot 100 chart.
Meanwhile, fellow Nigerian singer Tems also recorded another career milestone as her song “What You Need” climbed five places to a new peak of No. 39 on the Billboard Hot 100 after 15 weeks on the chart.The track recently reached No. 1 on both the Billboard Mainstream R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay chart and the Mediabase Urban Radio Airplay chart, making Tems the first solo African artist to achieve those radio milestones.
