A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Otukpo, Benue State, Hon. Ejeh Udeh, has been shot dead by unidentified gunmen at his residence.
The incident occurred around 12:00 a.m. on Monday when the assailants stormed his Ugboju home and shot him in the presence of his family.
Eyewitnesses said the attackers, who arrived on a motorcycle, had laid an ambush for him.
As soon as he entered the compound, they surrounded him and opened fire.
His remains have been taken to the Otukpo General Hospital morgue.
