The Association of Resident Doctors of the Federal Capital Territory Administration (ARD-FCTA) has suspended its indefinite strike.
President of ARD-FCTA, Dr. George Ebong, confirmed the development to AljazirahNigeria on Friday, saying members are to resume work on Monday, September 22, 2025, at 8 a.m.
AljazirahNigeria recalls that ARD-FCTA commenced the strike on Monday over poor working conditions, remuneration, and other demands.
However, Dr Ebong explained that the suspension followed the intervention of the Senate Committee on Federal Territory Area Councils and Ancillary Matters, and also in respect of the FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike.
He noted that none of the doctors’ demands had been met as at the time of filing this report.
“The senate intervened. Even though none of our demands have been met yet, they assured us that they will talk to the minister. We hope the minister will listen to us, because we respect him,” he stated.
