Boko Haram Terrorists Attack Chibok Community, Burn Two Schools

Flames rise from Kautikari Primary School and Government Day Secondary School following an attack by suspected Boko Haram insurgents on Saturday evening.

Suspected Boko Haram/ISWAP terrorists on Saturday evening launched an attack on Kautikari village in the Chibok Local Government Area, setting a primary school and a day secondary school on fire.

The assault, which reportedly began around 7:00 pm, triggered panic among residents, forcing many to flee into nearby bushes in search of safety.

Kautikari, a community that has experienced repeated attacks by insurgents in recent years, once again came under siege as armed terrorists invaded the village and targeted public facilities.

A security personnel from the community, currently based in Maiduguri, confirmed the incident, stating that villagers were fleeing for their lives while the two schools were engulfed in flames.

“Yes, I can confirm to you that our village (Kautikari) in the Chibok local government area is under Boko Haram attack,” the source said.

“Our people are scampering for safety, even as two schools (primary and day secondary school) are under fire.”

As of the time of filing this report, the number of casualties, if any, had not been determined.

Efforts to obtain official confirmation from the spokesperson of the Nigeria Police Force in Borno State, ASP Kenneth Daso, were unsuccessful, as calls and inquiries were not responded to before press time.
