Governor Umar Bago has been called upon to be fair and just to all political parties contesting in the forthcoming November local government elections to debunk insinuations in some quoters that only APC candidates are the favourite.
The People’s Democratic Party,PDP, Chairmanship Candidate of Mokwa Local Government, Hon Gimba Alhaji Usman stated this in an interview with newsmen.
Gimba stated that for the past two years Governor Bago has exhibited sense of belonging by carrying everyone along irrespective of political parties,tribe or religion inclination.
“As a governor of the state,he has authority over all elected political office holders,and as chief security officer of the state,he can not discriminate to save and protect everybody’s interest”.
According to him, Governor Bago as a humble leader who has make the contest open to all political parties will no doubt allow for free and fair elections by giving to Ceasar what belongs to Ceasar..
Alh Gimba, however, dispel the rumours that Governor Umar Bago from the ruling APC will not allow any political party to win local government election except the APC.
He said for the fact that he is PDP candidate contesting as the Chairman of Mokwa local government,he has no doubt on the ability of the governor following his antecedent since he assumed office as governor of the state.
According to Gimba,the Governor is fully aware of campaign expenses by every candidates and will not cajole them to spend their hard earn resources aimlessly at this critical financial predicaments.
“I wonder what is the fear of governor’s as chief executive of the State to only select members of his political parties in all the local government areas after spending state resources for local government elections”.
He, however, advised Governor Bago to distinguish himself as a true people’s governor to vindicate his style of leadership by allowing free and fair elections to prevail,Gimba re-emphasised.
