Chairperson, African Union Commission, AUC, Mahmoud Ali Youssouf, yesterday congratulated Senegal for winning the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, after beating Morocco 1-0 in Sunday’s final.
Youssouf described Senegal’s victory as “well-earned” and the final as a “fitting and memorable” conclusion of the tournament.
He added that the tournament reflects the highest standard of African football, competitiveness and continental pride.
According to him “AFCON has once again demonstrated that the beautiful game is a powerful force for unity, bringing Africans together across cultures, borders and generations.
“The successful hosting of AFCON, once again reflects Africa’s growing capacity to stage world-class sporting events that unite the continent and inspire global admiration”.
