The All Progressives Congress (APC) has congratulated Biodun Oyebanji on his re-election as Governor of Ekiti State, describing the outcome as both historic and remarkable.
In a statement issued on Sunday in Abuja, the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, said Oyebanji’s victory represents a significant milestone in the state’s democratic journey.
According to the APC, the governor’s re-election marks the first time an incumbent governor has successfully secured a second term in Ekiti State’s contemporary democratic history.
The ruling party stated that the election result reflects the confidence reposed in Oyebanji by the people of the state, describing the outcome as an endorsement of his leadership style, governance approach and development initiatives.
The APC noted that the governor’s people-focused policies and commitment to improving the welfare of residents contributed significantly to the overwhelming support he received at the polls.
The party also commended the efforts of the Independent National Electoral Commission, security agencies and other stakeholders involved in the conduct of the election, praising what it described as a peaceful, credible and professionally managed electoral process.
It further applauded residents of Ekiti State for their orderly conduct and active participation throughout the election, noting that their support demonstrated continued confidence in the APC and its progressive ideals.
Expressing optimism about the future, the party said Oyebanji’s second term offers an opportunity to consolidate on achievements recorded during his first tenure and accelerate development across various sectors of the state.
The APC added that the governor’s administration is expected to deepen the implementation of the policies associated with the Renewed Hope Agenda of Bola Ahmed Tinubu, with the aim of improving infrastructure, economic opportunities and the overall standard of living for residents of Ekiti State.
