Nigeria’s Tobi Amusan will take home a total of $55,000 (₦82.5 million) after winning silver in the women’s 100m hurdles at the World Athletics Championships in Tokyo.
The 28-year-old clocked 12.29 seconds to finish second behind Switzerland’s Ditaji Kambundji, who won gold with a national record time of 12.24 seconds.
American Grace Stark secured the bronze medal in 12.34 seconds.
Amusan earned $35,000 in prize money from World Athletics for her silver medal finish, while Nigeria’s official kit sponsor, Hiracer, awarded her an additional $20,000 as a silver medal bonus
