A’Ibom Rep Empowers 50 Constituents To Bag ISPON Certification

As part of his pre-election promises, the member representing Ibeno, Onna, Eket and Esit-Eket Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. Okpolupm Etteh has lauded 50 of his constituents who recently bagged the Institute of Safety Professional of Nigeria, ISPON, certification.

Addressing the beneficiaries at Royalty Hotels in Eket Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State, Etteh said: “I am happy because today’s event speaks directly to our commitment to youth empowerment, sustainable development, and the future of our Federal Constituency. Indeed, this is part of our efforts to fulfill our campaign promises, and it is worthy of celebration.

“The aim of the scheme is to equip the youths of the federal constituency with skills that are not only relevant, but also critical in today’s industrial and economic landscape.

“The competencies you have gained in safety management, fire watch duties, and authorized gas testing, will serve as the foundation for building successful careers in both the private and public sectors”.

The lawmaker thanked the National Productivity Centre, NPC, and ISPON “for painstakingly providing trainers and instructors that worked diligently to deliver world-class instruction.

The National President of ISPON, Engr. Timothy Iwuagwu urged youths of of the federal constituency to see their certification in the Health, Safety, and Environment, HSE, professional competency development programme as a “meal ticket” for the future.

Presenting certificates to the 50 youths who were professionally trained in safety management, fire watch duties and authorised gas testing, Iwuagwu, charged them to replicate the gesture through effective utilisation.

While commending the lawmaker for sponsoring the training, the ISPON national president assured that the institute will continue to support the graduates for greater productivity.

In his remarks, state chairman of the Nigerian Institution of Safety Engineers, NISE, Engr. Ndifreke Inokon commended the sponsor and urged the beneficiaries to be good ambassadors of the federal constituency by making the most out of the skills acquired.

In same vein, former chairman of Eket LGA, Hon. Aniekan Akpan expressed optimism in the capacity of the lawmaker to deliver.
