From HASSAN JIRGI Damaturu
Senator representing Yobe East, Musa Mustapha has urged the federal government to provide succour to communities ravaged by flood in the senatorial district.
He also tasked government to provide solution to commuters and prevent a looming humanitarian crisis in the communities.
He donated N10 million to the affected areas to compliment the efforts of the state government.
The senator commended Governor Mai Mala Buni for promptly sending the Deputy Governor, Idi Gubana, to assess the situation within 24 hours of the incident.
He said “I am deeply concerned about the recent flooding in Jumbam town, Tarmuwa Local Government, which has rendered the road to the state capital, Damaturu, impassable.
“I have been informed that multiple villages and towns in Yobe East Senatorial District have been cut off, forcing residents to take longer alternative routes to access the state capital.”
According to him, this natural disaster may exacerbate the existing hardship faced by our people who rely heavily on the state capital for essential supplies, including food and other basic necessities.
Senator Mustapha sympathised with the Yobe State government and prayed that Almighty Allah eases the situation.
