Media aides to Governor Umar Bago of Niger State have reiterated their determination to work with the media to ensure the growth and success of the ‘New Niger’ agenda.
They made the declaration yesterday when the Correspondents Chapel of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ, led by its Chairman, Comrade Yakubu Bina, paid separate courtesy visits to the governor’s media aides at the Government House, Minna.
The three media aides include the Chief Press Secretary, Ibrahim Bologi, Special Adviser (Print Media), Aisha Wakaso and Special Adviser (Digital Media and Strategy), Abdullberqy Usman Ebbo.
They expressed appreciation for the visit and agreed to work with media outfits in the interest of the society and the state.
During the visit, Bina drew the attention of government to critical issues affecting the union and lauded Governor Bago’s efforts in embarking on developmental projects across all sectors of the economy.
In his response, the chief press secretary called for the support and understanding of the media in ensuring the required publicity of Governor Bago’s activities, adding that they are partners in progress and will be accorded respect.
Ebbo, who commended the chapel for the visit, assured of a smooth working relationship with the media to the benefit of both parties. .
However, Wakaso reaffirmed the commitment of the state government to carry everybody along in its activities to ensure adequate and proper publicity of its programmes.
