Agricultural firm, Davidorlah Nigeria Limited has pledged readiness to empower over 50,000 young Nigerians on pineapple farming across the country.

The group urged the federal government to ensure an enabling environment in order to address food insecurity.

Speaking at a press conference Monday at the National Assembly Complex Abuja, Chairman/Chief Executive Officer, CEO, of the group, Ambassador Oluwasegun Alabi informed that the proposed empowerment plan for youths is meant to ensure food sufficiency across the country.

Responding to questions about secondary school curriculum were agricultural studies is optional for students, Alabi lamented that the development might affect students view on farming.

The group also advised the federal government to address the pressing issue of food insecurity, maintaining that it is important to always engage the right people in the agricultural sector.

The organisation also informed of its readiness to offer informed and strategic advice to government on how to solve food crisis.

It also advocated collaboration with individuals, companies, government bodies and parastatals to achieve its vision.
