Chief of Army Staff, COAS, Lieutenant-General Taoreed Lagbaja, and top commanders of the Nigerian Army will convene in Uyo, the Akwa Ibom State capital, to assess the army’s operations and activities in the second and third quarters.

A statement issued by the Director, Army Public Relations, Major-General Onyema Nwachukwu, in Abuja, said the army would hold the Chief of Army Staff Combined Second and Third Quarters Conference 2024 from August 26-30.

“The conference will provide an opportunity for the army leadership, senior commanders and participants to evaluate the conduct of ongoing Nigerian Army operations, training and other activities in executing its constitutional mandate.

“The conference will also enable strategic projections for the fourth quarter and a comprehensive review of counter-insurgency operations, anti-banditry efforts and other critical operations across the country.

“Furthermore, participants will gain valuable insights into the Chief of Army Staff’s future agenda for the army.

“The conference will feature presentations on operations, administration, logistics and other key events as outlined in the Nigerian Army Forecast of Events 2024,” he added.

Nwachukwu stated that crucial decisions aimed at enhancing the functionality and effectiveness of the service would be considered during the conference.
