The leader of INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, Primate Elijah Ayodele, has appealed to the Federal Government to release detained leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu.
Ayodele made the appeal while addressing members of his congregation in a video that circulated online on Saturday.
Speaking on the issue, the cleric argued that if the government decides to continue Kanu’s detention, it should apply the same standard to Islamic scholar Sheikh Ahmad Gumi.
“Try and release Nnamdi Kanu,” Ayodele stated during his address.
According to the cleric, applying different approaches to both figures could create doubts about the government’s fairness and consistency in handling sensitive national matters.
Ayodele further expressed concerns about growing public dissatisfaction, warning that protests could escalate if authorities fail to address issues troubling many Nigerians.
“Protest will seize this Tinubu government,” he said, suggesting that mounting frustrations among citizens could lead to increased demonstrations against the administration.
His remarks come amid ongoing national conversations surrounding Kanu’s detention, security concerns, and broader debates about governance and public trust in government institutions.
