Former Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom, has appealed to his supporters and those of his counterpart, Gabriel Suswam to put aside their differences and work towards maintaining peace and unity within the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP in the state.

Ortom who made the appeal in a statement signed by his media assistant, Terver Akase, made available to journalists yesterday in Makurdi, acknowledged that differing opinions and positions are inevitable in politics, but emphasized that these differences could deepen the democratic process and enrich discourses within the party.

He highlighted his long-standing friendship and mutual respect with the former Benue Governor, Suswam, stating that they will always prioritize the greater good of the party and its members when resolving political disagreements.

The immediate past Benue Governor,Ortom called on all stakeholders to remain committed to the shared objectives and aspirations of the PDP, commending party members for their peaceful conduct during the recently concluded Ward Congresses.

He encouraged party supporters to exhibit the same spirit by conducting themselves orderly during the forthcoming Local Government and State Congresses for the party to bounce back to life.

Ortom who urged party members to support the State Caretaker Committee set up by the National Working Committee, to enable it succeed in its assignment, equally appealed to members to promote unity and cohesion within the Benue State PDP, to ensure the party’s continued success.
