Rivers State governorship aspirant of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), Ambassador Blessing Fubara, has appealed to his supporters and party faithful to remain calm and patient as the party and the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) conclude the collation and verification of results from the recently concluded governorship primary election in the state.

In a statement issued on Sunday, Fubara expressed gratitude to his supporters for their steadfast commitment and overwhelming support throughout the primary process, describing their dedication as the driving force behind his vision for a united, progressive, and prosperous Rivers State.

The governorship hopeful urged party members, stakeholders, and residents of the state to maintain peace and avoid actions capable of undermining the democratic process while awaiting the official outcome of the exercise.

“I therefore call on all my supporters, party faithful, stakeholders, and the good people of Rivers State to remain calm, peaceful, and positive as the NDC National Secretariat and INEC complete the collation and verification of results,” he said.

Fubara noted that neither the NDC nor INEC had officially declared the outcome of the primary election, cautioning supporters against relying on rumours and unverified reports circulating on social media and other platforms.

According to him, the exercise was conducted in line with the party’s constitution and the Electoral Act, stressing the importance of allowing due process to take its course.

He expressed confidence in the integrity of the party and optimism that the final result would reflect the wishes of delegates who participated in the election.

The aspirant also called on his supporters to remain disciplined, avoid provocation, and refrain from spreading unconfirmed information, emphasizing that unity remains the movement’s greatest strength.

Reaffirming his commitment to the ideals of the NDC, including transparency, service, and good governance, Fubara assured supporters that the quest for a better Rivers State remains on track.

“The journey continues, and victory for Rivers people is certain,” he declared.

The NDC is yet to officially announce the outcome of its Rivers State governorship primary election.
