Ebonyi Governor’s Wife Empowers 195 Persons

The wife of Ebonyi state governor, Mrs Mary-Maudline Nwifuru has empowered some women in the state to be self reliant.

Those empowered includes, sixty five persons on Information and Communication Technology (ICT), one hundred and thirty women and youths on fashion design, hair dressing among other skills.

Mrs Nwifuru made the disclosure during the official flag off of the 2024 Ebonyi Women August Meeting held at Christian Ecumenical Center, Abakaliki.

She encouraged women in the State to build their homes in such a way that the good virtues from different homes would be manifested in the society, “If you make a good home, our society will be a peaceful one”.Mrs Nwifuru said.

Earlier, the state governor, Francis Nwifuru had commended Ebonyi women especially the wives of the former governors for their support to his administration.

The governor also enjoined mothers to be mindful of their family responsibilities, and tasked them to ensure they train their children with their local dialect and traditional of the people for the interest of the state.

On her part, the wife of the former governor, Mrs Eunice Egwu while appreciating governor Nwifuru for being friendly with women encouraged mothers to be mentors to their children.

In an interview, some of the beneficiaries of the empowerment including, Mrs Adeline Ogbonnaya and Becky Okereke lauded the state government under the leadership of Francis Nwifuru stating that the administration has touched many lives.
