Managing Director of the North East Development Commission, NEDC, Alhaji Mohammed Alkali has expressed the commission’s determination to support critical institutions with the necessary equipment through its intervention scheme.
Alkali reaffirmed the commission’s resolve to continue the support during the presentation of media equipment to the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria, FRCN, and the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria, FAAN, in Maiduguri.
He stated that access to credible information and efficient public services is essential to regional growth and stability, hence the need to provide the necessary support to public institutions whose responsibilities directly affect the lives of citizens.
Receiving the items on behalf of FAAN, the Regional Manager of Muhammadu Buhari International Airport, Maiduguri, Fatima Aliyu commended the commission for the thoughtful gesture, noting that the support would ease movement for travellers and contribute positively to the overall airport experience.
Receiving the media equipment on behalf of the FRCN director-general, Dr Muhammad Bula expressed heartfelt appreciation to the commission for the intervention.
He, however, described the support as timely and impactful in strengthening the organisation’s capacity to effectively inform and engage the public.
Similarly, the FAAN Regional Manager, Muhammadu Buhari International Airport Maiduguri, Fatima Aliyu commended the commission for the gesture.
Aliyu said the support would ease movement for travellers and contribute positively to the overall airport experience.
The presentation was conducted alongside the Managing Director of the North West Development Commission, NWDC, Professor Abdullahi Ma’aji, who was on a working visit to NEDC.
The donation of 130 trolleys to FAAN by the commission was aimed at improving passengers comfort, enhancing operational efficiency and strengthening airport support infrastructure. (NAN)
