Ebonyi State government has reaffirmed its unwavering commitment to sustained collaboration and support for UNICEF programmes aimed at advancing the health, development and future of the people.
The assurance was given during a courtesy visit by the Chief of Field Services, UNICEF Nigeria, Miss Judith Leveillee, and her management team to the Government House, Abakaliki, at the weekend.
Receiving the delegation, the state government commended UNICEF for being a dependable and strategic development partner, noting that the organisation’s interventions have continued to make positive and far-reaching impact across healthcare centres and other critical sectors in Ebonyi State.

Emphasising the importance of evidence-based governance, the state government encouraged UNICEF to strengthen data collection efforts through increased manpower, stressing that accurate and reliable data remain central to effective planning, service delivery and measurable development outcomes.
The UNICEF team was also urged to sustain and expand child-focused health interventions, including routine immunisation, deworming, and other essential services targeted at improving health outcomes for children across the state.
Reiterating its commitment, the Ebonyi State government assured UNICEF of continued collaboration and institutional support to ensure the success of ongoing and future programmes.
The government expressed confidence that sustained partnership with UNICEF would strengthen the state’s drive towards building a healthier, stronger and more prosperous Ebonyi State, especially for its children and vulnerable populations.
