Date:

Proprietress of Deenfields International Academy, Apo, Abuja, Binta Ibrahim has stressed the need to inculcate religious and secular education early in children to boost their moral values.

Mrs Ibrahim stated this at the graduation ceremony of the school.

Ibrahim, who expressed excitement with the achievements of the school so far, especially in the quality of education given to the pupils, urged parents and teachers to rise to the occasion, especially in the area of instilling morals into the children.

On the improvement of the school, especially in the performance of the pupils, she said: “I feel excited and overwhelmed that 46 pupils are graduating today. I am proud of them.

“This is the second graduation ceremony of Deenfields International Academy. We started with about three pupils, but today see the growth. You can see the hall today; so I am grateful to God that we have attained this height.”

Speaking on the vision of the school to integrate Western and Islamic education, Mrs Ibrahim noted that the management had done well in bringing children of diverse religious backgrounds together with sound tutorials about their respective faiths.

“We have been able to integrate Islamic education into the system because it was the initial foundation. We have been able to integrate smoothly; you can see what is happening today. Our plan is to setup the secondary section because parents have being yearning for it,” she said.

About the challenges confronting her vision, she noted that the school has been soaring in line with its slogan, ‘Catch Them Young,’ adding that “when you catch them young and instill your principles into them, those coming behind will find it easy to key in.”

In his address, the head of the school, Mr Ahmad Isah thanked the teachers, staff and management for their support to the pupils in many ways.

Also speaking, the PTA Chairman, Suleiman Yaro commended the school for guiding the pupils in the right direction, noting that Islam does not abhor western education.
