The Federal Ministry of Youth Development has concluded arrangement to commemorate the 2024 World Youth Skills Day (WYSD) which is slated for Tuesday the 16th of July, 2024.
This is in compliance with the declaration of the United Nations
General Assembly for every member state to commemorate World Youth Skills Day on the 15th of July every year.
This annual event serves as an opportunity for member states to recognize the importance of equipping young people with the necessary skills for employment and entrepreneurship as well as address challenges of skills acquisition amongst the youth.
The programme which is in collaboration with other stakeholders in youth employment and empowerment, is with theme “YOUTH SKILLS FOR PEACE AND DEVELOPMENT.”
World Youth Skills Day aims to raise awareness about the crucial role of skills development in fostering peace and driving sustainable development, particularly in today’s ever-changing job market. This commemoration also provides an opportunity to encourage Member States of the United Nations General Assembly to prioritize and invest in youth skills development initiatives.
The Federal Ministry of Youth Development is committed to leveraging this occasion to inspire positive change and advocate for sustainable policies and programmes that prioritize youth skills for peace and development.
All stakeholders, including government bodies, non-governmental organizations, educational institutions, and youth representatives are expected to partake in this all important annual event.
