Yobe State governor, Mai Mala Buni has approved the suspension of the Chairman of Machina Local Government Area, Idriss Mai Bukar Machina indefinitely.
Our correspondent gathered that the suspension of the recently elected chairman followed alleged misconduct and insubordination.
A statement signed from the Office of the Secretary to the State Government, Baba Mallam Wali, said the governor directed the suspended chairman to hand over the affairs of the council to the vice chairman pending further directives.
Meanwhile, the House of Assembly has received a petition against the Vice Chairman of Karasuwa Local Government Council, Khalid Umara, over alleged gross misconduct and insubordination to the chairman.
Leader of the House, Nasuru Yusuf presented the petition on the floor of the House which was signed by the Director of Personnel in the local government, Gaji Mohammed.
