Former Minister of State for the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Dr Ramatu Tijjani Aliyu, has commiserated with the Ona of Abaji and Chairman of the FCT Council of Traditional Rulers, His Royal Majesty (HRM) Alhaji Adamu Baba Yunusa, over the death of his wife, Hajiya Hadiza Adamu Baba Yunusa.
Chief of Staff to the Ona of Abaji, Alhaji Salihu Kakamba, confirmed the incident to reporters on Saturday at the palace.
According to him, the late Hajiya Hadiza passed away around 11:27 p.m. on Friday at the Abaji General Hospital, shortly after she left home at about 11 p.m. for a medical check-up.
Dr Aliyu, in a condolence message issued on Saturday, said she received the news of Hajiya Hadiza’s passing “with deep shock and sadness.”
“On behalf of my family, I extend my heartfelt condolences to His Royal Majesty, the entire family, and the good people of Abaji. The loss of a wife, mother, and matriarch is indeed a painful experience, and our prayers are with you in this moment of grief,” she stated.
The former minister who is also the Sarauniyar Abuja, described the late Hajiya Hadiza as a woman who would be remembered for her humility, kindness, and motherly disposition to all who crossed her path.
“Her life was a testimony of service, devotion, and quiet strength, leaving behind a legacy of love and compassion,” she added.
While praying for the repose of her soul, Aliyu expressed confidence that Almighty Allah would grant Hajiya Hadiza Aljannah Firdaus and give the royal family the fortitude to bear the “irreparable loss.”
