Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, has finally returned to Port Harcourt, the state capital, following his reinstatement by President Bola Tinubu.
Fubara touched down at the Port Harcourt International Airport at about 11:50 a.m. on Friday, marking his first appearance in the state since the lifting of the emergency rule.
The development comes more than 24 hours after President Tinubu formally ended the six-month emergency rule in Rivers State.
The Governor was warmly received by a large crowd of supporters who had converged at the VIP wing of the airport to await his arrival.
Meanwhile, the Rivers State House of Assembly resumed plenary on Thursday, but Fubara was noticeably absent from the Government House despite the hundreds of supporters who had gathered there to welcome him.
