Flood: Adamawa Constitutes Relief, Post Recovery C’ttee

Adamawa State government has constituted a 21-member relief and post-recovery committee to ascertain the damage caused by the recent flood disaster and identify possible strategies of post-recovery and assistance to victims. 

The committee headed by the Deputy Governor, Professor Kaletapwa Farauta, with representatives from various government and security agencies, as well as community leaders, was urged to ensure fairness, transparency, diligence and relief to the affected communities.

A statement signed by the Chief Press Secretary to the governor, Humashi Wonosikou, assured the communities of government’s determination to ensure the safety and well-being of citizens.

“We are committed to providing relief and support to the affected communities and work towards sustainable solutions to mitigate future disasters,” the governor stated. 

Secretary to the State Government, SSG, Awwal Tukur is to serve as the secretary of the committee.

The constitution of the committee is part of government’s immediate response to the recent flood disaster which claimed no fewer than 23 lives with 55 residents injured and property worth millions of naira destroyed.
