Borno Gov Sacks 2 Commissioners, Announces Replacements

Borno State governor, Babagana Zulum has relieved two commissioners of their appointments to revitalise governance and enhance service delivery.

The reshuffling was contained in a statement released yesterday by the governor’s spokesperson, Dauda Iliya.

According to the statement, the affected officials are the Commissioners for Environment, and that of Intergovernmental Affairs and Special Duties.

The governor, who expressed appreciation to the two officials and wished them the best in their future endeavours, announced that Engr Mohammed Habib and Ibrahim Hala Hassan would replace the relieved commissioners.

Meanwhile, Governor Zulum also approved Professor Yusuf Balami’s appointment as the Executive Chairman of Borno State Secondary Education Board.

Balami, a Professor of Education Psychology, hails from Hawul in the southern part of the state.

He worked with Borno State Ministry of Education between 1984 and 1988, and later proceeded to the University of Maiduguri as graduate assistant and he became a professor in 2014.

He is a member of several professional bodies and has authored countless publications as lead author or co-author.

The statement also added that all appointments had been communicated to the Borno State House of Assembly for confirmation.
