President of the Nigeria Karate Federation, Hon. Silas Agara, has been elected 4th Vice President of the African Karate Federation (UFAK), a notable milestone for Nigeria’s standing in continental sports.

Speaking at the close of the 2025 UFAK Championship in Abuja, Agara expressed pride in Nigeria’s hosting success and improved performance, highlighting the team’s medal haul—one gold, two silver, and two bronze—as a major leap from previous outings.

He noted that Nigeria’s first-time hosting of the event attracted a record 34 countries and helped reshape perceptions of the nation’s safety, hospitality, and sports infrastructure.

“The reception, accommodation, and competition venue left a lasting impression on our guests,” Agara said, adding that many compared the event to global tournaments.

He also praised the unity and generosity of Nigerians during the event, calling it a true display of the nation’s spirit.

Agara concluded by reaffirming his commitment to karate development in Nigeria and thanked all stakeholders who contributed to the championship’s success.
