From Nwogha Ndubuisi, Abakaliki

Ebonyi State governor, Francis Nwifuru, has called on Ezza people to uphold the unity and political understanding that have long defined the clan.

He made this appeal during Ojiji/Okeaku Ezza Clan Festival held at Okpoku Ezza, Onueke in Ezza South Local Government Area.

Commending the elders and stakeholders for fostering peace and cultural cohesion, the governor lauded the impressive turnout at the festival and urged youths to preserve the legacy of unity through active participation in cultural practices.

Governor Nwifuru reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to fulfill the People’s Charter of Needs manifesto and encouraged them to shun divisive political struggles.

He also advocated for continued support for female cultural groups, Unwúanyi-Ezza and Ada-Ezza, emphasizing their role in unifying the clan.

In their remarks, the Vice Chancellor of Ebonyi State University, Professor Michael Ugota-Awoke, and the Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Ben Uruchi-Odo, highlighted the significance of Ojiji festival and called on the Ministry of Information and State Orientation to promote Ebonyi’s cultural identity using indigenous dialects.

The event was attended by government officials, Ezza indigenes at home and abroad, and other dignitaries.
