Former Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari was buried at his residence in Daura, Katsina State, following Islamic funeral rites, with President Bola Tinubu, Guinea-Bissau President Umaro Sissoco Embaló, Niger Prime Minister Ali Lamine Zeine, family members, senior government officials, and prominent figures in attendance.
The interment took place at approximately 5:50 PM.
Buhari, who died at age 82 on Sunday, July 13, 2025, in a London hospital after a brief illness, had his remains received in Nigeria by President Tinubu earlier that day.
The body arrived in Daura around 4:33 PM in a military ambulance, accompanied by Tinubu, Vice President Kashim Shettima, Katsina State Governor Dikko Radda, National Security Adviser Nuhu Ribadu, businessman Aliko Dangote, former Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, and other dignitaries.
