Police Launch Manhunt For Killers Of Cultist In Ogun

Ogun State Police Command has launched investigation into the killing of a suspected 44 year-old cultist, Bashiru Saidu, in Ota area of the state.

Saidu, a member of Eiye Cult, was reportedly shot dead during a rival war for supremacy in Atan, Ado/Odo Ota Local Government Area.

He was shot in the head on Sunday and abandoned in a pool of blood.

Four assailants were said to have arrived the scene on two motorcycles, engaged in a cult clash which resulted in the death of the victim and fled the scene immediately.

Confirming the incident to newsmen in Abeokuta, the Police Public Relations Officer, Omolola Odutola said the command had begun investigation into the matter to unravel the perpetrators, as men of the Anti-Cultism Unit had been sent out to capture them.

“The Ogun State Police Command has launched investigation into a fatal cult-related incident that claimed the life of Bashiru Saidu, aged 44, along Bankole Onibukun Street, Atan-Ota in Atan-Ota area of the state.

“His body was evacuated and deposited at the State Hospital Mortuary, Ilaro, for further examination.”

She admonished Ota residents to stay vigilant and inform the closest police station of any suspicious activity.
