Buni Commends Tinubu For Instituting Students Loan Scheme

Yobe State governor, Mai Mala Buni has commended President Bola Tinubu for establishing the Nigerian Education Loan Fund, NELFUND, and urged state tertiary institutions to explore entrepreneurial education to create employment opportunities for youths.

Governor Buni, who gave the commendation during the conferment of honorary Doctorate Degree in Public Administration on him and the first lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, by the Federal University, Gashua, FUGA, expressed the state government’s willingness to partner the university. 

The university, which graduated 3,449 students from four faculties, also conferred honorary doctorate degrees on the Minister of Police Affairs, Senator Ibrahim Gaidam, former Senate President, Ahmad Lawan, Alhaji Bukar Goni Aji and Justice C.G Wajid Muhammad.

Earlier in her speech, the Vice Chancellor of the university, Professor Maimuna Waziri described the event as a celebration of academic achievement, institutional growth and resilience at FUGA.

“The ceremony marks a significant milestone for the Federal University, Gashua, highlighting the importance of collaboration and support from various stakeholders in achieving its vision.

“With its maiden combined convocation ceremony, the university looks forward to a bright future ahead, driven by its commitment to academic excellence and community development,” she said.
