Ebonyi State governor, Francis Nwifuru has expressed his administration’s commitment to invest in education, stating that the University of Aeronautics Engineering, Onueke, would play a pivotal role in shaping the future of aviation and aerospace in Nigeria.
Nwifuru, in a statement signed by his Press Secretary, Ugochukwu Onwe, made this assertion when he received the certificate of recognition and registration for the full takeoff of the university at the National Universities Commission, NUC, in Abuja.
The governor emphasised that the university would equip citizens with the necessary tools to succeed in today’s competitive global landscape by providing cutting-edge knowledge and skills.
He thanked the Executive Secretary of NUC, Professor Abdullahi Ribadu, and the entire management for their approval and issuance of the certificate of recognition.
Nwifuru promised to ensure that the university provides innovative solutions to drive growth and development in the country and reiterated his administration’s commitment to empower Ebonyians through the provision of world-class educational institutions.
The event was attended by dignitaries, including the Secretary to the State Government, SSG, Professor Grace Umezurike, Chief of Staff to the governor, Professor Emmanuel Echiegu, Commissioner for Tertiary Education, Professor Amari Omaka, vice chancellor of the University of Aeronautics Engineering, Onueke, other principal officers of the university and the Permanent Secretary, Abuja Liaison Office, Dr Kizito Nwovu.
