US Partners GFA Technologies To Launch American Space In Ogun

United States of America(USA) in partnership with GFA Technologies, on Thursday, unveiled the 29th American Space at Ogun Tech Hub, Kobape, Abeokuta, the state capital, to serve young people in the state technology-driven ideas on leadership and entrepreneurship skills from US institutions and across the world.

Acting U.S. Consul General JoEllen Gorg urged youth in the state to take full advantage of the initiative set up in the state and receive necessary training on business skills and other related programs updated in the American space.

Gorg explained that the 29th American space would give Nigerian youth both male and female in the state, the maximum opportunity to develop potentials through programs offered by the space to achieve success and build strong relationship and cultural ties between Nigeria and America.

She said ‘ we are delighted to partner with the Ogun State Government and GFA Technologies to open the Ogun Tech Hub Window on America in Abeokuta. This window on America is a collaborative and technology-driven center dedicated to education, innovation and partnership benefiting all residents of Ogun State and beyond.”

“Ogun State is opened for business and United States want to be a partner, we have this space for youth to come as noted a lot of wonderful resources can be accessed through the space and we have also updated a resources and as the state governor noted this is the 29th American Space in Nigeria and wherever you are watching this, there is going to be an America space near you and we really invite you to join us in making Nigeria great and America great” she noted

The State Governor, Dapo Abiodun, called on the youth to tap into the resources made available by the American space to develop their potentials in leadership, entrepreneurship skills as well as space related programs.

Abiodun, who acknowledged the 29th American Space was the second in the state, expressed that the American window was more than just a space describing it as a platform which through youth engagement would not only connect but further strengthen the relationship between Nigeria and America.

He said” I think that this a very lauded initiative and I must of course thanked America, the US mission, for considering this for implementing, this meant to be the 29th window America that has been established in Nigeria. And this is the second one in Ogun State but I believe that this one is more than a window because it combines a few other things particularly against the background.”

“It is more than a space, it is a platform that presents an opportunity to further strengthen and connect America with Nigeria particularly through the involvement of our youth and knowing fully well we have probably the largest center of incubation for young men and women because we are the education capital of Nigeria.” he stressed.

Earlier, the Chief Executive Officer(CEO) of GFA Technologies Group, Mr Debo Omololu, thanked the US government for establishing the initiative at the Ogun Tech Hub, saying that it would bring technology access particularly in learning, business and cultural exchange with the American government, to youth in the state.

“What is important is what the space actually does, in simple terms it is where you can do every with American government maybe expect visa, the space allows cultural exchange, business exchange and learning exchanges. As a private sector, the GFA Technologies Group through our GFA foundation working with the United States mission in Nigeria as well as Ogun State Government to bring technology access to all of our youthful population in Ogun State.”

“We are the the collaborators that enable the American space in Ogun Tech Hub here in Ogun State this is special there are 29 American spaces across Nigeria. However this is the first one that has multiple windows for American spaces outside of where the US has its embassies and consulate. The US has its embassies in Abuja and in Lagos and they have two American spaces in both states. he added.
